This research is to serve for the cultivation of the advanced country-typed outstanding individuals for the 21st century by developing and applying the ‘Literature-Art-Science’ Integrated Education Programs for Improving Children’s Fused Creativity.
As for the 1st year of this research, it is to secure its theoretical legitimacy, rationality, in which I have arranged in block the research contents, method, scope, etc. displayed by the previous researches on the mutual categories between literature and art, literature and science, art and science.
Its departure was to make rendering subject-matters being storytelling, which was a method for both being able to evoke the learner’s interest to the maximum and at the same time to maximize its value. And the next step was to model the storytelling literary subject-matter through the art, for which I prepared a list of vocabularies of various techniques, principles, expressing methods, preference, etc. used for the art in advance. Finally, it was given to me a task to discover the scientific principles hidden within the expressing techniques of the art, for which I systematically schematized the multiple art techniques and the correlated scientific knowledge in order to maximize the learner’s interest or satisfaction. Its resultant was printed in the 15th issue(March, 2014) of Korea Science & Art Forum under the title of Theoretical Study on the ‘Literature-Art-Science’ Integrated Education Programs for Improving Children’s Fused Creativity.
As for the 2nd year of this research, I developed four programs such as the standardized three-level ‘Literature-Art-Science’ Integrated Programs, and applied them to the students of Sulsan Elementary School, Impi-myon, and enrolled on Local Children’s Center, Iksan, 16 times from September through December, 2014, and exhibited the resultants after classes. Finally, I arranged the result as a treatise, which was printed in the 19th issue(March, 2015) of Korea Science & Art Forum under the title of A Case Study(I) on Development and Application of ‘Literature-Art-Science’ Integrated Education Programs.
As for the 3rd year of this research, I increased the number of the standardized ‘Literature-Art-Science’ Integrated Programs from 4 to 10 until now, and am doing a preparatory work for applying them to the Elementary Schools. In particular, as for the final research, I am going to review the aspects of not only the learner’s interest, good feeling for the programs, but also the improvement of creativity. Namely, I am going to apply TTCT(Torrance Tests of Creative Thinking) which was developed by American psychologist Ellis Paul Torrance(1915-2003) to both occasions, before and after of programs, and taking statistics the result. By doing so, I will finish this research by fixing up the related research processes as a treatise, and submitting to the expert journal.
