외국인 강제노동자. 나치는 강제수용소에 수감된 유대인과 전쟁포로 등을 강제노동에 이용했지만, 외국인 민간인들도 적지 않았다. 특히 동구에서 온 외국인 노동자들은 많은 차별대우를 받았는데, 사진에서 보이듯이 `ost`(동부)라고 씌여진 표찰을 패용해야 햤다. 서독정부는 유대인에 대한 보상을 일찍부터 했지만, 이들 외국인 강제노동자에 대한 보상은 아주 뒤늦게 이루어졌다. 독일 정부와 경제계는 2000년 <기억, 책임 그리고 미래>라는 재단을 세워 이들에 대한 보상을 하고 있다.
