An Analysis of the process acting as a driver of the expansion of meanings in the synonym-antonym net - the meanings of '틀리다' ranging from "be wrong" to "be different“ [Shin, Jung-Jin]
The purpose of this paper is to reveal that the misuse of 'teullida(틀리다/wrong)' can lead to the expansion of the language while the synonymic analogy and the antonymic analogy are constantly involved in the semantic network. First of all, it turns out that 'teullida' of [not correct] is core sense in a dictionary meaning or a corpus. At least in interpreting corpus data, we can see that 'teullida' of [not correct] is better used in literature materials than other meanings of 'teullida'.
The fact that 'teullida' of [discrepancy] is mainly realized by the sentence of '~기 틀리다'. It supports the fact that differentiation of semantics can occur based on syntactic syntax. In addition, 'teullida' of [discrepancy] often shows examples used with collective or adverbial words. In the corpus, it was confirmed that there are many uses of 'teullida' of [blame]. In the corpus, I was able to confirm '옳다(right)' in the 'teullida' of [blame].
There is no use for 'teullida' of [different] in «Standard Korean Dictionary». Typical examples of 'teullida' through corpus are that in all the deep structures, it is essential to set up a spontaneous survey plot, and it can be seen that the survey plot is omitted as it is surfaced. In the normative grammar, the frequency of appearance is as high as 'teullida' in the main meaning, and the usage is extended to the idiomatic expressions as well.
'맞다(Right)', which is inversely related to 'teullida', has a synonymic relationship with '같다(same)' depending on the sense. Naturally, the '같다 ' is usually inversely related to '다르다(different)', meaning of '다르다' is 'teullida' and there is a close meaning relationship network in the network of words. In other words, based on the antonym-relation of '틀리다-맞다', the synonym-relation of '맞다 = 같다' forms a network, and the relation between them and the opposite semantics is '같지 않다=맞지 않다'. And that many of today's speakers speak 'teullida' of [different]. Therefore, after the application of the synonymic analogy, eventually, the antonymic analogy is formed, and the thing formed is 'teullida' of [different]. This, of course, forms another type of enlargement of the meaning.
