This paper is focused on what Case properties the associate NP has in English there construction. It will be claimed in this paper that the associate NP is the object but carries nomiantive Case rather than accusative Case. This Case is not a regular nomunative but what Boeckx (2000) calls nominative by Agree. Based on such a proposal, it will also be claimed that the nominative object in Korean carries the same nominative by Agree and that they share similar syntactic properties with each other. In addition, an attempt will also be made to extend the proposal to cover the Case of the associate NP in English presentational there construction. The accusative counterpart of the nominative object in Korean will be shown to carry accusative Case by Agree.
