최근 기업의 경쟁력이 통합물류정보시스템의 구축과 밀접한 관련을 갖고 있어 많은 국내기업들이 그들의 경쟁력 강화를 위해 물류기술력 이나 물류관리력과 같은 물류정보시스템 구축에 노력을 기울이고 있다. 그러나 물류정보시스템의 관련요인이 물류성과에 미치는 영향에 있어서 보다 중요한 것은 해당 기업의 물류조직구조, 물류기술력수준 그리고 물류관리력 등과 같은 기업특성에 따라 다르다는 것이다. 따라서 본 연구는 기업 특성에 따라 물류성과와 어떤 관계가 있으며 어떠한 요인들이 물류비 절감이나 고객서비스 향상과 같은 물류성과에 영향을 미치는가를 분석한 것이다. 분석결과 본 연구는 다음과 같은 시사점을 주고 있다. 첫째, 물류정보시스템은 최고경영자 및 물류실무자의 적극적인 관심과 참여가 선행되어져야 물류성과를 효율적으로 달성할 수 있다는 것이다. 둘째, EDI 와 같은 정보기술의 현신적 도입이 물류정보시스템의 성공적 완수를 필수적이라는 것이다. 그리고 기업이 물류정보시스템을 활용하는 목적이 물류비절감보다는 고객서비스의 향상에 있다는 점이다.

In recent years, as the competitiveness of a firm has a close relationship with the construction of integrated LIS, many domestic firms make an effort to strengthen their competitiveness. In order to meet these requirements, many domestic firms consider progressive investment in LIS, basic logistics technology, and logistics management.
But what is more important is that logistics performance can be differed by the relationship among the firm's characteristics such as logistics strategic capacity, logistics organization, basic logistics technology level, and logistics management capability.
Therefore, this study examines the relationships among structural factors such as logistics management activities, logistics information technology, and performance of LIS.
This study suggests the practical implication to the business managers as follows.
First, the top/logistics managers have to make a committment to the LIS because logistics performance is greatly influenced by LIS. Secondly, the introduction of innovative information technology such as EDI can be necessary to implement LIS successfully. Finally, the LIS can be more effective tool for the customer service improvement than the logistics cost reduction.
