본 연구는 신제품의 혁신성이 신제품개발프로세스와 신제품성과간의 관계에 미치는 중재영향을 조사하였다. 연구 결과는 신제품의 혁신성이 중재영향을 발휘하고 있음을 보여주고 있다 소혁신 신제품의 경우 프로세스활동의 철저한 수행이 신제품성과에 유의적 영향을 끼친 것으로 나타났다. 중간혁신 신제품의 경우에는 프로세스활동의 공식성, 통압수행, 철저한 수행, 외부의존이 신제품성과에 유의적 영향을 끼친 것으로 나타났다. 대혁신 신제품의 경우 소혁신 신제품의 경우와 유사하게, 프로세스활동의 공식성과 철저한 수행이 신제품성과에 유의적 영향을 끼친 것으로 나타났다. 신제품유형과 성공변수 수간의 관계가 마치 'inverted U'자 형태를 띠는 것으로 밝혀졌다.

This study examines the moderating effect of new product innovativeness on the relationships between new Product development Process and new product performance. The research results show that the new product innovativeness strongly affects the relationships between the new product development process and new product performance. For the incrementally new Products, only the Proficiency of process activities affects their new Product performance in a Positive way For the moderately new Products, the precess variables such as formality, proficiency, integration, and external reliance of process activities are Playing a significant role in increasing the new product performance. For the radically new Products, the formality and proficiency of process activities increase the level of new product performance, as is simitar to the case of the incrementally new Products. It depicts that the relationship between the degree of new product innovativeness and the number of process variables directly affecting new Product performance takes a shape of "inverted U" curve.
