본 연구는 교사교육 프로그램 평가 모형을 개발하여 검증하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위하여 교사교육 프로그램을 분석하여 전문성 평가 요소를 과정과 산출로 구분하였다. 전자에는 교육과정, 교수활동, 현장실습, 교사후보생, 관리ㆍ여건 등으로 상세화하고, 후자에는 예비교사를 포함하여 교사교육 프로그램의 체제 분석적인 접근을 시도하였다. 한편 평가요소를 평가 준거로 상세화하고 이러한 준거를 측정할 수 있는 평가 지표를 개발하였다. 구조방정식모형(LISREL)을 사용하여 본 연구에서 개발된 교사교육 프로그램 평가 모형의 합치도를 검증하였다. LISREL분석 결과 본 모형은 매우 적합한 것으로 나타났다.

This thesis attempts to develop the evaluation model of teacher education program in order to improve the quality of teacher education. This study includes (1) new evaluation model building, and (2) verification of the developed model. This thesis is organized as follows.

A new evaluation model of the quality of the teacher education program was designed. An unique characteristic of this model is that the structure of the model can be used to investigate the inter-relationships between curriculum domains. The factor analysis is implemented to analyze evaluation indicators.

Through model testing it was found that this model is valid. The chi-square with 37 degrees of freedom was 47.75(p-value .11). In this view, the chi-square is a measure of overall suitability of this model to the data. it measures the distance(difference, discrepancy, deviance) between the sample covariance matrix. In addition, to the overall chi-square statistic other goodness-of-fit measures are the goodness-of-fit indices, the adjusted goodness-of-fit indices, and root mean square residuals(RMR). In this study the goodness-of-fit indices was .98, the adjusted goodness-of-fit indices is .95, RMR is .03.

The model was an attempt to systematize the teacher education evaluation. In future, we must evaluate the program quality of teacher education. But this method of teacher education evaluation was different with the accreditation. In Korea teacher education has minimum quality. However, the model does not guarantee a rise in the quality of teacher education. When we try to improve the teacher education program, we can be assured that the quality of teacher education.
