The purpose of this study was to apply Physical Self-Description Questionnaire for the Youth with Developmental Disabilities(PSDQYDD) by modifying Kim(2001) and Choi(2003)'s questionnaires. The subjects consisted of 128 students with mild developmental disabilities(12-20 yrs) as classified by the ABILITIES Index(Simeonsson & Bailey, 1991) from special schools and rehabilitation centers. After conducting content validity and pilot study, in order to get a final version of the PSDQYDD, explanatory factor analysis, internal consistency and stability analysis, and confirmatory factor analysis were used for the statistical procedures of the study. The result of explanatory factor analysis showed that the PSDQYDD was composed of 5 factors(i.e., sport ability, health, strength, appearance, esteem) and 14 items. The reliability estimates for internal consistency in each factor were .61 - .76 and intra-rater reliability was high for each rater's scores which indicated a high stability and consistency of scoring. Also, according to the result of confirmatory factor analysis, the index values which were greater than .9 reflected an acceptable fit model. These results may contribute to the application and development of a new questionnaire for the youth with developmental disabilities.
