본 연구는 상담사가 된 중도장애인의 삶의 이야기와 의미를 탐구하고자 내러티브 탐구를 수행하였다. 연구문제는 첫째, 상담사가 된 중도장애인이 경험한 삶의 이야기는 어떠한가? 둘째, 상담사가된 중도장애인의 삶의 의미는 어떻게 구성되는가?이다. 본 연구의 참여자는 성인기 이후 장애를 갖게 된지 10년 이상 경과하고, 상담사로 10년 이상 활동하고 있는 [나무], [진주] 두 명을 선정하였다. 내러티브 탐구의 절차에 따라 3차원적 내러티브 탐구 공간을 바탕으로 의미분석을 진행하였다. 본연구결과는 상담사가 된 중도장애인의 삶의 이야기를 중도장애 이야기, 장애수용 이야기, 상담사로살아가는 이야기로 구성하였다. 그리고 그들이 경험한 이야기 속에서 발견한 의미는 ‘변하지 않는세상에서 변해 버린 나’, ‘절망속에서도 포기할 수 없는 삶’, ‘고통이 내담자를 공감과 위로하는 상담사로 살게 함’, ‘장애가 누군가에게는 희망으로 비추어짐’, ‘고립되지 않고 다시 살아감’ 으로 해석되었다. 이상의 연구 결과를 통해 장애에 대한 이해와 인간의 좌절과 고통을 극복하고, 성장하는 과정에 대한 이해를 통하여 교육 및 상담프로그램 개발과 상담사 발달과정의 기초자료로 활용되기를 기대한다.

This study conducted a narrative inquiry to explore the life story and meaning of the severelydisabled who became counselors. The research question is, First, what is the life story of theseverely disabled person who became a counselor? Second, how is the meaning of the life ofthe severely disabled who became a counselor constituted? Two participants in this study wereselected, [Namu] and [Jinju], who had been disabled for more than 10 years after adulthood andhad been active as counselors for more than 10 years. Semantic analysis was conducted basedon the three-dimensional narrative exploration space according to the narrative inquiryprocedure. The results of this study consisted of the story of the life of the middle-ageddisabled who became a counselor, the story of accepting disabilities, and the story of living asa counselor. And the meanings they found in the stories they experienced s were interpreted as'I have changed in an unchanging world', 'a life that cannot be given up even in despair', 'painmakes a client live as a counselor who empathizes and comforts', 'disability is hope forsomeone' and 'being reflected as' and 'living again without being isolated'. Through the aboveresearch results, it is expected to be used as basic data for the development of education andcounseling programs and counselor development process through understanding of disability,overcoming human frustration and pain, and understanding of the process of growth.
