Significance of submission of research outcomes (original data and intermediate outcomes) |
|
We are planning to provide the service to disclose the database that collected and constructed major research outcomes (original data and intermediate outcomes) of the researchers who performed the research tasks to general researchers. The purpose of this service is to construct the foundation for academic development in the fields of humanities and social sciences by preventing the overlapped researches and allowing the coresearchers and the subsequent researchers to easily read the previous research data, thus preventing the research data produced through much time and efforts from dying out. The constructed data will be provided through the KRM user service (www.krm.or.kr). |

Kinds of research outcomes that should be submitted by researchers |
|
[※ Examples of intermediate outcomes and original data]
Survey data (statistical data), image, video, recorded data, single paper data, archaic documents, archaic books, article data, Web site |
| Raw data
| Imtermediate results
|
Definition |
Overall data that the researchers collected and used in their research without intervening in the data production process |
Overall data that the researchers directly produced and used in their research process by putting the research expense, which is supported by the foundation for the research activity.
Various literature data that contain the research contents in progress (※ including Grey Literature that was not published)
|
Types of data |
1) Data produced by other people (other institution)
Census
Sample survey data (Election opinion survey, whole nation family survey, urban household survey, etc.)
Economic and administrative statistics
Governmental records (annals, diplomatic document)
Family register, private records, anthology, biography, letter, etc.
Observation, interview, oral statement record
2) Literature data published by other people (other institution)
Research outcomes produced by other people (other institution) (Thesis, books and translated books, research result report, etc.)
(※When the researcher of “A” research used the intermediate outcomes or the research results produced by the researcher of “B” research, these data become the original data from the standpoint of “A” research.)
|
1) The data directly produced by the researcher in the research process
Survey data directly produced (micro data)
Observation, interview, and oral statement record that were directly produced
Photo and video directly photographed
Academic conference presentation data (proceeding)
Pre-Prints
(Research results before publication,
first submission thesis in case of academic thesis)
Research team meeting record
Report independently issued by the research team/publications
The secondary data directly produced by the researcher using the original data produced by other people (other institution)
Statistics table (statistical data) (Macro data)
|
|
Academic thesis preprints: The first submission of thesis for the final thesis published through academic journal (the thesis before the peer review of the coresearchers)
Grey literature: It is the data that is difficult to obtain because it did not go through ordinary route of publication, which includes independent research result of the research team, meeting record, proceeding, lecture data, unfinished manuscript, and research result just before the publication.
The annual report and the result report that has already been submitted or will be submitted to the foundation, the final research results (thesis, books, and translated books), and the data that has a possibility to cause infringement on the author’ property right and personality right (portrait right, honor right) of other people are excluded from data collection.

Information about the important documents that should be submitted by researchers |
|
|
The scope of the data used by researchers varies depending on the condition permitted by the author. Therefore, the signature on the author’s property right use permission form should be clearly identified. |
|
It is a file that can provide the explanation that is helpful to the reading of the data by general researchers. Because the researchers are the most familiar with the data, please fill in the space if you can and correct the wrong explanation, if there is any. |
