The mutual interaction in East-Asia during the 17th-18th century has the art historical meanings to Chosun ceramics. Firstly there are few evidence except wide foot rim that can prove the mutual interaction between Chosun and China ceramics during the 17th century, because Chosun was reluctant to receive the Chinese style and technique, due to the hostility of Chosun to the Ching China after war. In the 18th century newly changed situation made the influx of chinese styles very active in Chosun. The Chosun scholars who emerged the major consumers of Chosun porcelain began to recognize Ching Chinese culture and import the Chinese ceramic style. Using the cartoon when painting the theme motifs, appearance of landscape motifs, popularity of auspicious and flower-insects motifs, angular shape and Chinese style decoration are good examples. But Chosun just borrowed the decoration type from China. The theme and representation were changed to satisfy the Chosun consumers taste. The popularity of Sosangpalkyung Chosun style flower motifs, design structure with the wide space, simple decoration, peculiar official kiln system were the characteristic Chosun style different from Chinese. Secondly even though there were material and personal exchanges in ceramics, the exchange was solely one-sided from the Chosun to Japan. Despite the invasion of Japan 1592-1597, Chosun showed the kindness to the Japan: Chosun made the tea bowl specially ordered from Japan near and in Woeguan 倭館(special place for trade with Japan) from 1649 to 1710. For the Chosun it was a difficult and even burdensome job to make the ceramics and export to the Japan because it needed some skillful potters and clay. Entering the 18th century, Japanese began to order the Japanese style ceramics. At last the export of ceramics to Japan stopped. The kidnapped Chosun potters during the Japanese invasion taught the ceramic technique to the Japanese, and they made the first porcelain in Japanese ceramic history. In the middle of the 17th century Japanese began to export the ceramics to Europe and they had received the Chinese style and technique actively. So entering the 18th century the mutual relationship between Chosun and Japan had changed. Japan did not import Chosun style ceramics any more. On the contrary the Chosun scholars group, Puckhakpa 北學派(the group actively insisting the urgent import of Ching culture and demanding the change of commercial idea and system) envied the Japanese respect of ceramic skill. Thirdly, Chosun did not take the advanced Chinese production technique, while Japan got the various technique from Chosun and China. The imported technique had become fundamental basis for Japanese porcelain technique. They also took the over-glaze decoration from China and developed their own production technique. For the Japan the experience of ceramic export to the Europe and Asia stimulated their production development. They could surpass the Chosun in ceramic production technique. As for the Chosun there was no evidence to produce over-glaze ceramics and improve their kiln system. Finally we had to know it was because the cultural golden age of the East Asia during the 17th-18th century that the East Asia could achieve surprising development through the active interaction. The appearance of literary scholars as the main consumers of ceramics and the taste of aesthetic patron affected the porcelain style. The landscape motifs, the poetic description on the porcelain and the increase of stationary production were popular in common. The identical taste of consumers in these country had the great influence on the mutual interaction.
