This study analyses the Japanese adjectives listed in the Japanese-Korean dictionaries circulated in Korea with focus on the adjectives serving as headwords in Japanese dictionaries. The target adjectives of this study is selected from the 3 most popular Japanese dictionaries. The main part of this study is composed of arguments on the macroscopic and microscopic structure of the Japanese-Korean dictionaries circulated in Korea on the basis of the analysis of the selected vocabularies. ●The most important thing in the macroscopic structure of Japanese-Korean dictionaries is the selection of headwords. The criteria of the selection of headwords in Japanese-Korean dictionaries are the editor's intention, dictionary size, the trend of the times, vocabularies for learning, word formation, and so on. This study investigates and analyses what kinds of headwords are listed in the Japanese-Korean dictionaries circulated in Korea with focus on the adjectives serving as headwords in the 3 most popular Japanese dictionaries. The followings may become the possible issues: the range of compounds and derivatives which can be possible headwords, the arrangement order of homographs, and so on. ●The microscopic structure implies the inner structure and the description of each headword. In this part the followings are the targets of analysis: the kana writing system in Japanese-Korean dictionaries, the Chinese character writing system, grammatical information, semantic description, uses and examples of lexical items, related words, derivational relations, and so on. In fact there are few Japanese dictionaries which provides some special information like Japanese pronunciation accents serving as basic knowledge in Japanese communication. Of course, there is no such information in the 3 most popular Japanese dictionaries, which are the targets of analysis in this study. Only Essence Japanese-Korean Dictionary presents the pronunciation information in the form of the Romanization writing system. In order to analyze these two structures, this study compares and analyzes them by investigating descriptive information of dictionaries with respect to the following kinds of descriptive information: headwords, writing system, grammatical information (parts of speech), semantic description, related words, related words, information on derivation, and the other respects.
