<<A study of diaspora consciousness of Korean poets in Manchuria at the colonial period>>
This study aims at identifying the hybridity diaspora consciousness over hierarchical consilience of Koreans in Manchuia through the works written by Korean poets in Manchuria at the colonial period.
I focused on the three aspects as follows, prior to the purpose of this article.
First, it was one directional discussion of the existed Koreans literature in Manchuria.
Second, it was in that Koreans in Manchu had contained the seed of the directional political life which was focused on the logic of life rather than any ideal or ideology, internalizing their consciousness already as the dispersed characters.
Finally, it was in that, as the 'national' character that presented in Korean literature in Manchuria was caused from the existential condition in which they were only the dispersed characters, they had to choose 'cooperation' during living in the society context of those days.
Based on this critical mind above, this study identified Korean literature in Manchuria at the colonial period as 'diaspora literature'. and paid attention to the nature and the result of modern politics such 'dispersion' caused by expulsion which was basically related with political.
Because, the dispersion can be summary as the uncertainty experienced of presence and awareness in anxiety and threat on self-identity, separation and expulsion by dominant power, so ultimately it can be expressed by ambivalent relationship between exclusion and inclusion which caused by modern nation-state system, the hybridity and boundary awareness.
For this, this article utilized the concept of diaspora and Homo sacar for explaining the experience of such dispersion of Korean in Manchuria.
According to Agamben, the nature of Homo sacar is referred to exclusion of inside, ultimately this is no other than the uncertainty experienced of presence and awareness that all of diaspora must endure as the result of modern politics which has the property of separation and division.
Therefore, this research studied the works published by <Mansun-ilbo>, 『Korean Poets in Manchuria』, and 『Poets in Manchuria』, as well the works of Yoon dong-joo, Lee wook, Kim jo-gyu and Yu chee-hwan etc. and analyzed the diaspora that is referred to dispersion or the dispersed characters and political unconscious that appeared in Korean literature in Manchuria at the colonial period based on the concept of Homo Sacar which implies the borderline chaotic caused by deportation and exclusion.
Key words: diaspora, diaspora consciousness, Homo sacar, inclusion of outside, exclusion of inside, Korean literature in Manchuria at the colonial period, cooperation, political life, the state of exception, zoe, bios, bare life, identity, Discourse of Manchuria, Travel of Manchuria, border, resistance, discrimination and oppression, reture volition, colonialism, colonial violence, nationality, reclamation literature, national police
