We found the follwing results by literature survey, interview, exploratory survey and analysis.
First, we set up the basic data base about the technology development, its commercialization process and performances by interview with CEO and survey in Chinese 5 main high industrial parks.
Second, we investigated success factors and failure factors for technology development for the purpose of systematic understanding of technology development process in China. Also we looked into and analyzed efficiency of regional clustering, institutional factors, government policy and financing methods. The analysis showed that firms in Chinese high tec industrial parks performed active technology developments.
Third, we did reserch on the commercialization process of developed high technology. The results showed that firms in Chinese high tech industrial parks are very active in its commercialization and have good performances. In particular, the technology development of firms are transformed into commercialization and contributed to national and regional economic growth. That is, the firms acted as the main agents of economic growth.
Fourth, we set up the data base of technology develoment and technology commercialization by survey for firms in Daeduk R&D special zone.
Fifth, we found that the firms are very active in developing technology and its commercializing. In particular, the firms developed the technology reflecting the market conditions from the first stage, which increased the success of commercialization.
Sixth, the firms in Daeduk R&D special zone are conflicted with insufficient business related infrastructure such as consulting and law supporting systems,
Seventh, we draw the technology exchange programs for mutual benefits. Korean industrial parks should set up the efficient division of labor with Chinese industrial parks in order to enjoy the sustainable development. The gap between Korean and Chinese industrial parks is getting smaller. And Chinese industrial parks have large markets and advanced basic sciences and abundant R&D human resources and cheap labours. In contrast, Korean industrial parks have comparative advantages in global level of commercialized technology and advanced information and technology related infrastructure and dynamic R&D development. Therefore the possibility and capacity for cooperation between Korean and Chinese industrial parks are very high and bright. Finally, cooperation between the firms are highly required for efficient market access of Korean firms to Chinese markets. For the purpose of the above mentioned objective, cooperation systems for many kinds of seminars, forums and fairs are required in the level of firms and industrial parks.
