On that point, Liaodong is the place there were repeating shifts in the alignment of many nations and political authority. Direct ruling over Liaodong, Yan(燕)s' sphere of influence after Zhanguo period, began by system of commanderies(郡) and prefecture(縣) as Han Emperor Wu Di adopted the policy of proceeding east. This article is a study on the state of power through agriculture at that time. The study method is based on agricultural material data, which can be concrete traces of lives, unlike existing methods which have been based on nation of unclear location owing to racial migration. In other words, through analysis in excavated agricultural instruments, this study examines the cultural influences, and the changes in means of production or unearthed relic with time, and then researches into the influx and development of new culture.
Especially, a lot of bronze arms and agricultural, industrial implements were unearthed in old Liaodong. In addition external political intervention was extended as iron ware substituted for bronze one in Chunqiuzhanguo(春秋戰國).
After Zhanguo period, unlike bronze ware, iron ware was closely related with expansion of power in the interior of Zhongyun. The fact that the place iron ware was excavated is similar to one where bronze ware was means that the power of Han times was expanded to northeastern region, holding indigenous power.
Especially, similarity of type change of iron implements in the interior of Zhongyun and Huabei region means that natives accepted the interior civilization actively.
Naturally, there seemed to be the changes of their shapes in process of acceptance. In iron culture of the northeastern region unlike bronze culture, independent culture of agriculture implements has been discovered in Koguryo, the farthest area of northeastern. Forged iron implements were excavated much more in Jian than cast ones, and the hilt part made by forge was inserted into handle. It is an independent style which we could frequently find in the southern part of the Korean Peninsula up to recently. It shows where the native culture of the northeastern region was preserved and at what stage it appeared.
We can also know the penetration process of power through the changes in shapes of agriculture implements. Until now, to grasp the concrete situation has been difficult because of a shortage of record materials. But it seems that the control over the frontier was strict through zhujian(竹簡) materials in the northwestern frontier and the central inland during Qin-Han period. It will be necessary to approach concretely this subject hereafter.
