A Development Study on Cooperative Model among Industry, University and Government to Promote Regional Sport Industry
Major Researcher: Ho-Mun Jun(Mokpo National University)
On the basis of the cooperative model developed by the first year research, this study attempted to verify such a developed IUG cooperation model before applied to the field of sport industry. In specific, it was designed to examine the validity variables and execution variables of the IUG cooperation model. An interview research was performed with sport industry or management academicians to derive meaningful variables in the model's validity and execution. Then, a study questionnaire was developed on the derived variable as well as on the previous research on an IUG cooperation model. Both in-person and internet survey methods were applied with practitioners, academicians and public officers. Data collected were analyzed with descriptive statistics, ANOVA and multiple regression analysis and following results were derived in this study. First, levels of importance in the IUG model's validity variables were different from each other. The mean scores for validity variables were combination, foundation, conversion and complement in order. In specific, the most important sub variable of combination that was perceived by IUG constituents together was the establishment of cooperative objectives. The most important sub variable of foundation was the construction of infrastructure for sport industry development(SID). The most important sub variable of conversion was the turnover capacity to competitive sport industry. Then, the most important sub variable of complement was the consolidation of associatedness among constituents. Second, levels of importance in the IUG model's execution variables were different from each other. The mean scores for execution variables were identified as objective, resource, management, service and organization. In specific, the major sub variable of objective was mutual agreement with objective. The major sub variable of resource was sufficient investment in physical resources. The major sub variable of management was exhibition of effective leadership. The major sub variable of service was furnishing financial service. And, the major sub variable of organization was the composition of effective execution agency. Third, each IUG constituent has different levels of recognition in all of the IUG cooperation model's validity variables. Especially, sport industry experts or academicians have the highest levels of importance in most validity variables. Fourth, each IUG constituent has different levels of recognition in most of the IUG cooperation model's execution variables. Sport industry academicians also have the highest levels of important in most execution variables. Fifth, as results of multiple regression analysis, the significant complement variables on the effectiveness of sport industry development included strengthening association between university and industry sectors, reciprocality for effective performance of functionality, and local government's active roles at early stage of SID. Sixth, the significant objective variable on the effectiveness of sport industry development contained the reciprocal recognition of objective among constituents, the establishment of regional economy activation as objective and pursuit of both each constituent's individual objective and cooperative objective. The significant service variable on the effectiveness of sport industry development included the providing of training and education service for constituents. The significant resource variable included the productive association of regional experts. The significant management variable was the appropriate response strategy for environment factors. In conclusion, based on the previous important variables that were induced from analyses, an IUG cooperation model was revised for regional sport industry development.
