본고는 1890년대부터 1918년 이전까지 일본어 학습에 사용된 일본어 학습서에 수록된 교재를 통하여 당시 일본어 교육의 문법 용어를 조사한 것이다.
이 시기는 한국에서 일반 국민이 일본어 학습이 시작된 시기로 일본어 교육에 획기적인 시기라 할 수 있다. 이 시기의 일본어 학습은 일본어 학습서가 일본어 교육 학습에 중심 자료가 되어 있었기 때문에 당시 일본어 문법 교육을 살피기 위해서는 당시 학습서의 연구가 필요하다. 한국 일본어 교육의 초창기에 일본어 문법 교육이 어떻게 출발하였나를 연구하는 하는 것은 일본어 교육의 발전 과정을 살피는 데도 필요한 일이며, 앞으로 일본어 교육의 발전을 위해서도 중요한 일이라고 생각한다.
본고는 한국어를 모국어로 하는 사람이 일본어를 배우기 위한 학습서의 문법 용어를 조사하여 비교 검토한 후 내용의 상이점과 문제점을 분석하여 정리함으로써 한국에서 일본어 교육 및 한국어 일본어 대조 연구에 기여 하고자 하는 것이다.
일본어 학습서의 대부분은 회화를 중심으로 일본어 학습이 이루어지도록 하고 있으나 조사 대상 학습서 중에는 문법을 중심으로 편찬된 것이 있다. 이 학습서의 명칭을 살펴보면 語典 文典 文法 등을 사용하고 있다. 당시 일본에서 널리 사용되고 있는 서명을 따라 이름을 붙여 편찬한 것이라 생각한다. 이하 文法 用語의 조사는 品詞論과 文章論 으로 나누어 조사했다.

A Study on grammatical terms on the Japanese Texts in the age of Civilization of Korea
This paper aims to research into grammar terminologies in the field of Japanese education by investigating teaching materials of reference books for the study of Japanese which were used between 1890s and 1918.
This period is the time when Japanese learning began among the common Korean people, and so this period is very important in the field of Japanese education. At that time, reference books for the study of Japanese were the core learning materials for Japanese education. Therefore, to describe Japanese grammar education of the period, it is necessary to research into the reference books for the study of Japanese of the time. It is necessary for the research of Japanese education development, and important for the ongoing development of Japanese education to make a study of early Japanese grammar education in Korea.
This paper investigates grammar terminologies used in Japanese reference books for native Korean speakers. This papers also compares and examines these terminologies, and then analyzes and clarifies their differences and problems. These works of this paper will contribute to Japanese education in Korea and the contrastive studies between Korean and Japanese.
Most Japanese reference books of the time gave priority on conversation, but there were some Japanese reference books which were compiled focusing on grammar. The titles of such books include 'word dictionary', 'sentence dictionary', and 'grammar'. It is thought that these books were named after the famous books which were widely used in Japan at that time. This paper's investigation of grammar terminologies is divided into two fields, namely 'parts of speech' and 'syntax'.
