러시아 아방가르드 시인 베젠스끼의 작품은 시, 소설, 드라마라고 하는 장르의 분류법을 무시한다. "극화된 서정시", "시적인 드라마" 등으로 불리는 그의 작품은 거의 대부분이 대화로 가득 차 있는데 그 대화들의 공통점은 부조리 문학에서처럼 일반적인 의사소통의 법칙을 파괴한다는 사실이다. 그러나 부조리 문학의 대화가 의미 자체를 거부하고 모든 의사소통의 가능성을 부정한다면 베젠스끼의 대화는 무의미한 발화를 통해 신의 존재를 긍정한다는 점에서 양자는 극명하게 대립한다. 본 논문은 시도 아니고, 그렇다고 드라마도 아닌, 10개의 이상한 대화의 단편만으로 이루어진 <<얼마간의 대화>>를 분석함으로써 베젠스끼의 넌-센스 대화가 갖는 신학적 특성을 고찰하고 그러한 고찰을 토대로 그의 종교적 미학적 의도를 천착하는데 목적이 있다.
세 명의 이름 없는 대화자가 등장하여 무의미한 말을 주고받는 <<얼마간의 대화>>에서 말과 사물, 기호와 지시 대상, 텍스트와 콘텍스트, 발신자와 수신자의 경계는 차례로 무너진다. 그리하여 세 사람의 대화는 한 사람의 자기의사소통으로 축소되는데 이 단일화된 목소리는 다시 서정적 자아의 목소리와 하나가 됨으로써 전체 텍스트는 저자 베젠스끼의 자기의사소통임이 드러나게 된다. 베젠스끼의 열광적인 신앙이란 측면에서 볼 때 이러한 자기의사소통은 결국 신비신학에서 말하는 신과의 교감으로 해석된다. 신비신학은 인간의 모든 언어, 지력, 감정을 부정함으로써 신에게로 다가갈 수 있다고 가르친다. 신은 인간의 지식을 초월하는 존재이므로 오로지 부정을 통해서만 신과의 합일을 체험할 수 있다는 것이다. 인간적인 언어의 빈곤을 누구보다도 깊이 성찰했던 베젠스끼는 넌-센스 텍스트라고 하는 초논리적인 코드로 신과의 교신을 시도했다. 신비신학자가 그러하듯이 그는 관례적인 대화의 모든 요건을 부정함으로써 오히려 신과의 합일을 향해 나아갔다. 이 점에서 <<얼마간의 대화>>는 신비신학에서 말하는 ‘부정을 통한 긍정’을 문학의 언어로 번역한 것이라 할 수 있다.

The Russian avant-garde poet A. Vvedenskii's works do not observe the generic distinction between poetry, novel, and drama. Being saturated with dialogues, they are often called a "dramatized lyric poem" or a "lyrical drama". The common denominator of all his dialogues is that they destroy the rules of the conventional human communication as in the literature of the absurd. However, while the literature of the absurd rejects meaning itself and negates the possibility of any communication, Vvedenskii's dialogues affirm the existence of God through meaningless utterances. The purpose of this paper is to analyse Vvedenskii's "A Certain Quantity of Conversations" in terms of communication and thus to investigate the theological features of his non-sense dialogues.
In "A Certain Quantity of Conversations", three nameless characters are constantly conversing about the most absurd subjects. However, in their communicative system, the boundary between the word/the thing, the sign/its reference, the text/the context, and the sender/the receiver is destroyed. The whole conversation turns out to be an auto-communication of one and the same person, and the voice of this auto-communication at the end dissolves itself into the voice of the author. Thus the text of "A Certain Quantity of Conversations" becomes an auto-communication of Vvedenskii. From the vantage point of Vvedenskii's deep spirituality, this strange shift of communication can be interpreted as a conversation with God. The mystical theology teaches that man can draw nearer to God by negating all his logic, thought, and language. God is transcendent and infinite, so man can experience a union with God only through the negation of his finite being. Vvedenskii, who regarded the poverty of language as his artistic credo, tried a communication with God through the alogical code of non-sense text. Like the mystical theologist, he aspired to the union with God by negating the logic of communication. In this sense, on can say that "A Certain Quantity of Conversation" is a poetic translation of theological "affirmation through negation."
