본 연구의 목적은 학업상황에서 보편적으로 사용될 수 있는 학업적 자기효능감 척도를 개발하고, 그 타당성을 검증하는 것이다. 우선 문헌연구를 통해 자신감, 자기조절효능감, 과제난이도 선호, 귀인을 학업적 자기효능감의 이론적 구성요인으로 설정하였으며, 이 요인들을 측정하기 위한 61개의 문항들을 제작하였다. 예비시행과 본시행을 통해 수집된 자료를 분석한 결과, 자신감, 자기조절효능감, 과제난이도 선호로 명명할 수 있는 3개의 요인이 산출되었으며, 28개의 문항(자신감 8문항, 자기조절효능감 10문항, 과제난이도 선호 10문항)이 최종 문항으로 선별되었다. 또한 학업적 자기효능감 척도와 일반적 자기효능감 척도의 구인간 상관분석 결과는 두 척도에서 상응되는 구인들간의 상관이 높은 것으로 나타나 학업적 자기효능감 척도의 구인의 타당성이 입증되었으며, 학업적 자기효능감이 일반적 자기효능감보다 학업성취도를 잘 예측하는 것으로 나타나 학업상황에서는 학업적 자기효능감이 보다 유용한 변수임이 입증되었다.

The purpose of the present study is to develop an academic self-efficacy scale for students. Based on the results of literature review, four subcomponents of academic self-efficacy construct were identified, i.e., self-confidence, self-regulatory efficacy, task difficulty preference, and causal attribution for success and failure. Sixty-one preliminary items that represented the four subcomponents were constructed to construe four subscales and administered to 395 high school students from three different high schools in Seoul area. Analysis of the preliminary data indicated that causal attribution factor should not be considered valid to represent academic self-efficacy, which resulted in three subscales of academic self-efficacy. The main study data were collected form 291 students of two other high schools. Item analysis and factor analysis results confirmed the three factors that represented corresponding subscales and the internal consistency indices of the three subscales were satisfactory. To examine the criterion-related validity of the scale, correlation coefficient between students' academic achievement scores and academic self-efficacy scores were computed. The results lend an evidence that the academic self-efficacy scale can be used as a valid instrument for predicting academic achievement.
