This research reveals history which is an activity that keeps nation's identity through Korean residences in Japan’s nation education from 1945 to 1955.
For this, 3 years of research project(First year: <Basic research> History of Korean residents in Japan’s Nation education, Second year: <Substantial research 1> Aspect of Korean residents in Japan’s Nation education(Kanto area), Third year: <Substantial research 2> Aspect of Korean residents in Japan’s Nation education(Kansai Area).
Applied research project had been adjusted from 3 years to 2 years. Therefore, research plan has been changed to 2 years of it.
First year, i myself focused on identity, history, diaspora of nation education.
First, for securing positive evidence of Korean residents in Japan, I proceeded a study of textbooks written by Korean residents in Japan Federation about details, stories, and compiler. Also, first draft of research(Nation education and identity of Korean residents in Japan Federation after liberation-throughout history textbooks & national history for children) was issued and redeem in 2011. As a result, this research paper had been published in [History Education; 121] in March, 2012.
Second, to find out identity of Korean residents in Japan’s nation education, I’ve been examined pre-history of 1st historical records. About this, I made a presentation by [Pre-history of Korean residents in Japan’s nation education – Study of Nation education for children of school age and ‘Identity’ in Osaka during Japanese colonial era ]at Academy of Korean studies’ International scholarship contest in December 2011.
Third, for consideration of Korean residents in Japan’s nation education’s characteristics in Kanto area, I wrote a paper which is about specific operating system of nation education by Tokyo Chosun middle school.
Fourth, based on historic and sociologic understanding, I expanded a study with nation, class, state. Considerate applicability for Korean residents in Japan by writing a draft.
Fifth, I assorted three different period of nation education by first period (1945-1949), Second period (1949-1951), Third period (1951-1955) so that understanded time-variant characteristics.
Sixth, doing research at Korean residents in Japan’s interpretive center, Arirang Center, and newly opened Institute for Korean Zainichi at Chungam University where all are very important to conduct a study truth of nation education in Kanto area.
Core content of Second year research is that nation education in Kansai during 1945-1955.
First of all, I examined characteristics of nation education mainly on Kansai area. In detail, arranging first period of stream in Osaka. With this, I focused some of who actually assigned for education so that I could have found out their massive role at that period.
Second, to compare systematic area of nation education, nation school in Kasai was the answer. Concretely, chosun school, Konkuk school, and Kumkang school were superior example of this. At the same time, the typical education struggle, Hanshin education struggle, was re-evaluated in its historical meaning during period of liberation.
Third, about Korean residents in Japan’s nation education in Kansai area, I investigated Hurights Osaka, The council of nation education of Korean residents in Japan, City library of Kobe. Korean school in Kyoto and Osaka international school were checked into practical nation education in nowadays.
Fourth, from Interviewing Kim Yonghae, Moon Kyungsoo who are well-known nation education expert in Osaka and practical educating details from Park Byungyoon, Seo yongdal, Cho Bak, I collected data of oral statement.
