The final goal of this study is to build a final regional circulation type Tourism Dure model from the perspective of the tourism ecosystem based on the traditional tour spirit, maker movement, and social economy. The purpose of the first year's research was set to develop an innovative Tourism Dure model by analyzing how to apply the maker movement manifested by Homo Faber to the tourism sector. In order to achieve the goal, we first planned a fact-finding survey with the Tourism Dure business, literature reviews, domestic and foreign case studies, and field surveys of the maker movement. The purpose of this study was to conduct qualitative research using Grounded theory.
The results of the first year are as follows: First, the operation and performance analysis of the Tourism Dure project hosted by the Tourism Dure Center of the Korea Culture and Tourism Research Institute, the overall survey of the local residents participating in the Tourim Dure project, the Tourism Dure PD, etc. It was conducted through an interview. Second, in order to conduct a field survey of the maker movement that can be applied to the tourism field, we visited two representative handmade fairs in Korea to conduct surveys with craftsmen in the booth to understand the current status of the maker movement. Third, in order to understand the role of the Tourism Dure PD, which plays a key role in the promotion of the Tourism Dure business, an interview was conducted with the Tourism Dure PD and participating residents, and through this, the role of the Tourism Dure PD was identified as a facilitator of the Tourism Dure business. Fourth, to find out about the formation of social capital in the local community through the Tourism Dure project, a survey was conducted with the local residents who participated in the Tourism Dure. The social capital through the Tourism Dure project, the role of the tourism tour PD, the relationship between innovation and quality of life were established empirically.
The purpose of the second year's research is to predict the business performance of resolving current issues (in addition to rising income levels, achievement of non-economic goals) and social capital (achievement of social goals such as community unity): 1) local makers collaborate with the goals and visions of the existing tour circumference, 2) regional makers based on the 4th industrial revolution innovate in the collaboration process of the Tourim Dure, 3) Tourism Dure changes in the tourism ecosystem due to regional makers, 4) its accumulation of financial capital 3), 5) youth jobs, low birth rate/aging, non-economic effects such as polarization of income, etc.
The results of the 2nd year are as follows: First, the concept of Homo Faber-based maker spirit is established, and the role of the maker movement and maker spirit in the Tourism Dure business, which is a representative model of sustainable community-based tourism (SCBT) was confirmed. Second, by identifying the role of the Tourism Dure PD, which plays a key role in the tourism tour project, a promotion model for the SCBT was proposed. Third, by utilizing the system dynamics, the Tourism Dure business was viewed from a tourism ecosystem perspective from a simple tourism business start-up perspective, contributing to the construction of a regional circulation type tourism production Dure model.
