1. Research purpose
The purpose of this study is to examine how the Goryeo people in the CIS region were able to maintain and preserve the context of Goryeo society, that is, how they were able to continue their identity as a Korean people by tracking the transformation process of the marriage view of Goryeo people in the CIS region.
2. Research content
(1) Differences in values between the first and second generation Goryeoin through marriage.
The difference in values between the first generation of Goryeoin and the second generation of Goryeoin is investigated through the perception of marriage. After meticulously analyzing the articles in the <Lenin Kichi> newspaper, all articles related to marriage are extracted and analyzed by period, gender, age, and region.
(2) The relationship between the debate on same-sex marriage and ethnic identity
We carefully analyze the articles submitted by readers about the most controversial “same-sex marriage,” to determine which issues have the most overlapping opinions. Through this, we examine what Goryeo people actually thought about same-sex marriage, and how this influenced the process of forming national identity. Next, we will examine the role that the difference in perception of the marriage view played a role in maintaining the Goryeoin society.
(3) Marriage embodied in literary works
Among the literary works published on the literary page of <Lenin Kichi>, works about family and marriage are extracted and analyzed for comparison with the actual view of marriage. For example, <The Walnut Tree> by Kim Gwang-hyun, <Handkerchief> by Han Sang-wook, <Reunion and Parting> by Lee Jeong-hee, <Sookmyeong> by Park Miha-il, <Dawn> by Kim Kwang-Hyun , Cho Jung-bong's <Their Love>, etc., to examine the perception of love and marriage, Kim Se-il's <Love> and Kim Pawell's <Jamilla, You Are My Life>, etc. It analyzes how marriages between immigrants were established and what differentiates marriages between ethnic groups.
3. Research method
In this study, we will be able to produce concrete results based on more empirical data without relying on existing data collections. First of all, the newspaper <Leningichi> is the main source. This is because the newspaper <Leningichi> published from 1938 to 1991 is the only medium that contains the daily lives of the Goryeo people intact, so there will be no more accurate data. In general, <Leningichi> is composed of 4 pages. Pages 1 and 2 mainly contain important political decisions or reports of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union and Kazakhstan, or the Pravda editorial in Korean, while pages 3 and 4 contain Goryeoin. Kolhoz and other Goryeoin articles and international news were published. In particular, on the 3rd and 4th pages of <Leningichi>, there are occasional satirical and real-critical articles classified as "feuilleton", and these articles provide a glimpse into the real life of the Goryeo people.
Second, we will personally collect data through local interviews. They plan to visit Central Asia in person, interview Goryeo people, and record various stories about their marriage views and surrounding marriages, and use them as direct data.
Third, it targets all literary works such as unions and short stories created by Goryeo people among the currently published books. In particular, I will focus on the works related to marriage and family relations.
